The search service can find package by either name (apache), provides(webserver), absolute file names (/usr/bin/apache), binaries (gprof) or shared libraries (libXm.so.2) in standard path. It does not support multiple arguments yet...

This method offers similar features as current services amavisd-nanny, amavisd-agent and amavisd-snmp-subagent, but use message passing paradigm instead of communicating through a shared Berkeley database. This avoids locking contention, so the gain can be significant for a busy amavisd setup with lots of child processes.
