The search service can find package by either name (apache), provides(webserver), absolute file names (/usr/bin/apache), binaries (gprof) or shared libraries (libXm.so.2) in standard path. It does not support multiple arguments yet...
The System and Arch are optional added filters, for example System could be "redhat", "redhat-7.2", "mandrake" or "gnome", Arch could be "i386" or "src", etc. depending on your system.
smoothscan is a tool to convert scanned text into a vectorized output form. Because printed text is assembled from fonts, each particular letter (like 'o') will have the same shape as every other 'o' in the document. We can take advantage of this, by building a table of such symbols, and represent each occurrence of a symbol with a reference to that symbol's table entry. This will save a lot of space, and a similar idea is used in djvu's jb2 mode and JBIG2 for PDF.
